This shop at No-2772/2 has been our base for quite some time now. Gali Peepal Mahadev stays busy throughout the day, so finding us can be a bit of a challenge if you aren't used to the narrow streets of Hauz Qazi. It really gets crowded early in the morning. Our space isn't huge, but we make it work with what we have. Most people just walk in after hearing about us from someone else in the market. We mostly deal with folks from around the neighborhood. The day usually starts with opening the shutters and cleaning up the dust from the street. It’s noisy outside most of the time. There is a lot of traffic nearby, mostly carts and people carrying loads. Our records stay in old registers and we try to keep things organized, though it gets messy when we are busy. Dealing with customers takes up most of our energy. We don't have a fancy office or anything like that. Just a counter and some shelves is all we need. Sometimes we sit outside for tea when it's a bit slow in the afternoon. People know us by name here. It’s been the same routine for years. We don’t really change much because the old ways seem to work okay for us. If you come by, just ask anyone for Vijay Kumar Anand Kumar, they usually know which shop it is. It's right there in the middle of the lane. It’s a simple setup but we like it.
