We are tucked away at Plot No.8 in the Ramdev Market area of Khari Baoli. If you have ever been to this part of Delhi, you know how intense it is. The smells of all the different spices and goods are everywhere, and it hits you as soon as you turn off the main road. Our shop is right near that main road, which is good for people trying to find us but bad for the noise. It is a very busy spot. We mostly handle wholesale stuff. Boxes are always being moved in and out, and the handcarts are constantly buzzing past our front door. My desk is tucked into a corner behind a stack of sacks. It isn't the most comfortable setup, but it’s where I’ve sat for years. We don’t have any fancy signs or big displays. People come here because they know what we carry. Usually, it’s a quick conversation, a handshake, and then the workers start loading things up. We drink a lot of chai throughout the day to keep going. It’s a tough environment because it’s so crowded and hot in the summer, but there is a real energy to it that you don't find in modern office buildings. We’ve been here long enough that we know all the other shopkeepers around us. We help each other out when someone is short-handed. It’s just how things work in Khari Baoli.
