If you’ve ever been near the Delhi Railway Station, you know how chaotic it is. Natasha Industries is at Shop No. 123 on More Sarai Road, right by Kaudiya Pul. This is the heart of the Mini Lajpat Rai Market. It’s incredibly loud and there are people everywhere, all the time. Our shop is small, like most of them in this area. We have to be very organized just to find a place to stand. There are wires and boxes everywhere. We deal with industrial parts and small components, so everything is tucked into little drawers or stacked on metal shelves. The bridge—Kaudiya Pul—is right there, and the sound of the trains and the traffic below is constant. It’s a very dusty place. We keep a rag handy just to keep the counter clean. It’s the kind of place where you drink tea out of a paper cup while shouting over the noise to a customer. We don’t have a fancy showroom. People come here because they know we’re in the middle of the market. The lights inside are bright fluorescent tubes that flicker sometimes. We work long hours because the market doesn’t really sleep. By the time we head home through the station crowds, we’re pretty exhausted. It’s just how it is in Old Delhi. You get used to the noise and the rush. We just focus on the inventory and the daily sales.
