Kala Udyog

Our business is located on the first floor of Plot No. 4934 in Kucha Ustad Dag. This is right in the middle of Chandni Chowk, directly opposite the Krishna Cloth Market. It’s a very old part of Delhi, and our building has that historic feel, which means the stairs are steep and the corridors are quite narrow. We’ve been operating from this floor for a long time. It’s a very busy area, and the sounds of the market below are always present, from the shouting of the loaders to the ringing of bicycle bells. Our space is mostly packed with rolls of cloth and finished goods waiting to be shipped out. We don't have a showroom with mannequins or bright spotlights. It’s a functional space where we do our business. Most of our customers are traders who have been coming to us for years. We don't really do much in terms of promotion. People know where we are and what we do. Sometimes it gets a bit chaotic when three different deliveries arrive at once, and we have to move everything around to make room. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and long hours, but we’ve grown up in this market and wouldn't know what else to do. It’s a bit dusty and loud, but it’s our home and our livelihood. We just take things one day at a time in the middle of all this chaos.
