Jaunpur Carpet Corporation

If you walk down Chauri Road, you will find us at Jaunpur Carpet Corporation. This area is known for carpets, so we are right in the thick of it. The smell of wool and dye is something you just get used to after a while. Our building is mostly taken up by the looms and the stacks of finished rugs waiting to go out. It isn't a very tidy place because there are always bits of thread and fluff everywhere. We don't have a fancy entrance or a sign that lights up. Most of the time, the front doors are wide open so we can get some air moving through the place. We have a few people who spend their whole day at the looms, and then a couple of us who handle the sales and the shipping. It's a slow process making a carpet, so we aren't in a rush like some other businesses. We take our time to make sure things are done the right way. Chauri Road can get pretty crowded with carts and rickshaws, so getting materials delivered is sometimes a bit of a struggle. We have been here a long time and the building has a lot of character, which is just a nice way of saying it is old. We don't use any big words to describe what we do. We just make carpets and try to sell them to people who need them.
