You can find H.L. Karar & Sons at Office No. 7 on Post Office Street. We are located right in the heart of Sadar Bazar, which is always a chaotic place to be. If you’ve ever been here, you know how the narrow lanes are packed with people and carts. Our office is tucked away, so it’s a bit quieter once you step inside. We have been operating from this same spot for a couple of generations now. My father started it, and now we are the ones sitting at the old desks. The walls are covered with old calendars and notes. We deal with a lot of different people every day, from suppliers to small shop owners. Things can get quite loud during the peak hours, especially with the shouting from the street. We just focus on our orders and the stock we have. It’s a traditional way of working. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just know where we are. We drink a lot of chai throughout the day to keep going. The floor is made of old stone and it’s seen a lot of boots over the years. We keep the paperwork in big folders and try our best to stay on top of the bills. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we know. We close up when the market starts to wind down in the evening. It’s just our daily life.
