Being at 4094 Urdu Bazaar near Jama Masjid in Delhi 110006 means things are always moving and quite loud. Genpact is right in the middle of all that history and the daily chaos of the market. If you’ve ever been to this part of Delhi, you know the streets are narrow and always full of people. We’re tucked away here. It’s a bit different from those big glass buildings you see in other parts of the city. Here, you smell the food from the stalls and hear the rickshaws all day long. Our space is functional and simple. We don’t have much room for extras, so we just make do with the desks we have. It’s a very local vibe. Most of us take the metro because driving here is basically a nightmare most days. The stairs are narrow and the building shows its age, but it has some character. We don’t try to act like we’re in some big movie. It’s just work. Sometimes we go out and get kebabs for lunch because they are right there on the street. It makes the day go a lot faster. Working in Urdu Bazaar gives you a different perspective on things. You see the same faces every day. We aren't trying to impress anyone with big signs or bright lights. We just have our name on the door at 4094 and that’s about it. It’s a tight-knit group here.
