G C Engineers

G C Engineers is the name on the board outside. We are over on Hamilton Road in Kashmere Gate, number 976/1. This is a very old part of the city and you can see it in the buildings around us. We do engineering work here, mostly mechanical stuff that people bring in. It is a dusty environment with plenty of metal and grease around. We have a few machines that we use daily. They are old but they still work fine for what we need. The space is filled with parts and scraps from different jobs we have finished or are still working on. It’s not the kind of place where you’ll find a clean floor. We usually have grease on our hands by noon. Hamilton Road is always loud with vehicles and other workshops doing their thing. We don't have a receptionist or a waiting room. People just walk in and talk to us directly about what they need fixed or made. It’s just how we have always done it. Sometimes a job takes longer than we thought, especially if a part is hard to find in the market. We take our lunch breaks together when there's a gap in work. We have been in Kashmere Gate for years and we know the rhythms of the street. It’s just us doing our engineering work day in and day out without much fuss.
