If you want to find us, you have to head down to Daroga Street in the Jogiwara area. We’re at number 4193, right in the thick of Nai Sarak. It’s one of those parts of Delhi where the streets are so narrow you can barely get a rickshaw through, and the overhead wires look like a giant bird’s nest. We’ve been operating out of this spot for a long time. It’s crowded and noisy, but there’s an energy to it that you don’t get anywhere else. Our shop is packed from floor to ceiling with stock. We don’t have a lot of space, so everything is organized in a way that only we really understand. A lot of our day is spent dealing with walk-in customers and people we’ve been doing business with for twenty years. It’s a lot of haggling, drinking tea, and keeping track of inventory on hand-written ledgers. We don’t use fancy software for everything; sometimes a pen and a notebook are just faster. When the monsoons come, the street gets a bit messy, but business keeps going. It’s a family-style environment here. The people working with us are more like neighbors. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there; we just want to make sure we have what people are looking for when they walk through the door. It’s busy, it’s loud, and it’s home for us. We wouldn't really know how to work anywhere else.
