Our place, Drives Application Pvt. Ltd., is at C-72 on Street No. 24 in the Badli Extension. It’s very much an industrial area. There’s a lot of trucks and small factories around us. The building itself is a plain concrete structure. We work on drives and applications. Inside, it’s a bit noisy because of the machines and the general sounds of the neighborhood. A large door stays open most of the day to let some air in, though it brings in some dust too. The office part is just a small section partitioned off with some glass and aluminum. There’s always a few motors or drive units sitting on the floor waiting to be looked at. Decorating isn't a priority for us. There’s a calendar from three years ago still hanging on the wall because nobody bothered to take it down. We use it for notes sometimes. Because the street outside is unpaved in some parts, it gets muddy when it rains. We just wear our work boots and don't worry about it. It’s a tough, practical environment, but it suits the work we do. Most of us have been working with drives for years, so we know our way around them. Computers aren't used much unless it's necessary. It’s more of a hands-on kind of shop. We just stay busy and try to get the orders out on time. It's not a fancy life, but it's what we do.
