Concept Smith

If you know Chawri Bazaar, you know how crowded Bajrang Bali Street can get on a Tuesday morning. Our place, Concept Smith, is on the first floor at number 3477. It’s a bit of a climb up the stairs, but it’s quieter up here than down on the street where the rickshaws are always honking. We’ve been operating out of this spot for a long time. Mostly, we deal with design work and getting things ready for print or production. It’s a lot of sitting at desks and looking at samples under the light. The walls are covered in old notes and sketches from years of projects. Sometimes the electricity acts up because it’s an old building, but we make it work. We don't really do the big fancy advertising stuff. Most people find us because they were already in the market for something else and someone pointed them toward our door. It’s a tight space, especially when we have a lot of paper or materials stacked up near the entrance. We drink a lot of tea while we work through the pile of orders on the table. Living and working in this part of Delhi means you learn to be patient with the crowds. We just focus on getting the job done right so the customer doesn't have to come back twice to fix a mistake. It’s a plain, honest way of making a living and we don't plan on changing that.
