Computer Operator

I’m based at the Ajay Kumar Sarala Market, specifically 356/1, Gali No. 2 in Sri Nagar, Shukupur. This part of New Delhi is always moving, and my small shop is right in the thick of it. I’ve been a computer operator here for several years. It’s a tight space, mostly filled with my desk, two computers, and a lot of wires that I really should organize better. I spend the bulk of my day sitting here, working on various documents for the people who live around Sri Nagar. It’s a lot of typing, scanning, and sometimes helping folks with online applications that they find confusing. The market is right outside, so there’s always the smell of street food and the sound of people bargaining. It’s a bit chaotic, but I like the energy of it. I’m not running a big tech firm or anything like that. It’s just me, doing the work I know how to do. Sometimes the internet cuts out and I have to wait for it to come back, which gives me a chance to stretch my legs and walk around the market for a bit. I try to be straightforward with everyone who comes in. If a job takes an hour, I tell them an hour. I don’t like overcomplicating things or making promises I can't keep. It’s a small, local operation, and that’s exactly how I like it. Most days I’m here until late evening. It’s a good way to stay busy.
