We’ve been up here on the second floor of 4647/9 in Bazar Ajmeri Gate for a while now. It’s a busy spot, especially with all the noise coming up from the street below. Most days start with opening the shutters and trying to get some air in, though the market outside is always dusty and full of people moving around. We have a few desks and some old filing cabinets that have seen better days. The stairs are a bit steep and narrow, so you have to watch your step when you come up to see us. It’s not a fancy place, just a workspace where we get things done. Sometimes the electricity acts up in the afternoons, but we’ve got a small backup to keep the lights on so we don't sit in the dark. We usually have tea delivered from the stall around the corner twice a day, and the boy knows exactly how we like it. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we haven't gotten around to it yet because there's always something more urgent to do. You can hear the rickshaws honking and people shouting orders all day long. It's just the way things are in this part of town. We keep our paperwork organized in stacks on the side table because the main metal cupboard is already full. It’s a tight fit when everyone is in the office at once, but we make it work.
