Canara Bank

This branch of Canara Bank is tucked into Gayathri Apartments, specifically at 11 Ad in Sector 9, Rohini, Delhi. It’s right in the middle of a busy residential block. Because we are inside the apartment complex area, we get a lot of people who live just a few doors down coming in to talk to us. It’s not like those massive branches in the center of Delhi where nobody knows your name. Here, things are a bit more relaxed, even when we are busy. The space inside isn't very large. We have the usual counters and a few chairs for people to sit while they wait. The air conditioning works okay, but on those really hot Delhi days, it struggles a bit. We spend our time counting out cash, checking passbooks, and helping people with their accounts. There is always a lot of chatter in the air, mostly neighbors talking to each other while they wait their turn. We try to keep the line moving, but sometimes the system goes slow and there’s nothing we can do but wait. It’s a practical place. We don’t have anything fancy on the walls, just the usual notices and calendars. It’s a steady job and we see the same faces every week. We aren't trying to be the biggest bank office, just the one that’s convenient for the folks living here in Rohini. We close up on time and start again the next morning.
