Anirudh Arora

I’m Anirudh Arora and I run my business out of 1065, Gandhi Gali in the heart of Chandni Chowk. If you know the area, we are quite close to the Fatehpuri Masjid. It’s one of those narrow lanes where you have to watch your shoulders as people pass by with big bundles of cloth or spices. This place has been in my family for a while. It’s not a modern showroom; it’s an old building with a lot of history and creaky stairs. Every morning I open up the shutters and start the day with a cup of chai from the vendor nearby. My work involves dealing with a lot of different people coming through the market. It’s loud and busy from sunrise to sunset. I don't have a big marketing team or a fancy logo. It’s just me and a couple of helpers managing the stock and talking to customers. Some days the heat in the Gali is almost too much, but the hustle of Chandni Chowk keeps you going. We do things the old-fashioned way here, with notebooks and pens. I think people like that they can come in and have a real conversation instead of dealing with a machine. It’s a practical way to live. We’ve been through many seasons here and I plan to stay right in Gandhi Gali for many more years to come. It's a crowded life but it's where I belong and where I work.
