It is funny because that place is very different from ours. We are a very simple, old-school men’s barber shop. We don’t do all the fancy treatments they do over there. We just focus on giving a clean haircut and a smooth shave. The shop is right on the main road, so it is very convenient for people who are passing by or doing their shopping. It can be quite noisy with the horns and the buses going past, but we are used to it by now. We have a few chairs and plenty of clean towels. We spend most of our time chatting with the customers about sports or the local news. It makes the day go by faster. We have some younger guys who come in for the latest styles and older men who just want the same cut they have had for thirty years. We do both without any fuss. The shop is a bit worn in, but that is because it gets a lot of use. We like it that way because it feels more like a real place. We are just here to serve the local community and make a living. There is no need for anything more than that.
