Aksh Mans Saloon

Aksh Mans Saloon sits right in the middle of the bustle at Central Market in Ashok Vihar. We are at Shop No. 12/6, which is quite close to Deep Cinema, so it is a landmark most people in the neighborhood know well. The shop is a typical local parlor with big mirrors and those heavy barber chairs that have been around for years. We don't have a fancy waiting lounge or a receptionist taking appointments on a computer. Usually, guys just walk in, grab a newspaper, and wait their turn on the bench. There is always some music playing or a cricket match on the small TV in the corner. The smell of aftershave and hair tonic is pretty much constant. It is a place where neighbors catch up on local gossip while getting a trim or a shave. We keep the floor swept as much as we can, but on a busy Saturday, the hair tends to pile up faster than we can manage. It’s not a high-end spa experience, and we don't try to make it one. We just provide a decent haircut and a bit of conversation. The staff has been here a long time, and they know how most of the regulars like their hair done without even asking. It is a simple, honest business that relies on the people living around Ashok Vihar. We open early and stay until the last customer is done, which is usually late in the evening.
