Moni Design Studio

This studio is tucked away in Islampur, Kadambagachi, in the Duttapukur area. It’s a small, quiet place where we take care of local design and stitching work. We don't really have a big sign or a fancy entrance, just a door that we keep open to let the breeze in. Inside, the space is usually filled with mannequins and scraps of paper with sketches on them. It is a bit crowded because we have rolls of fabric tucked into every available corner and shelf. Most of our work is for people who live nearby. They come in with a specific idea or a piece of cloth they bought, and we try our best to make it into something they like. It involves a lot of measuring and sometimes a few mistakes that we have to fix. Our sewing machines are old but they work well enough, even if they need a bit of oiling every now and then. We aren't trying to be a big famous brand. We just enjoy the process of making clothes that actually fit people. The street outside is mostly quiet, except for when the local school lets out in the afternoon. We spend most of our hours at the big cutting table in the center of the room. It’s a simple life, but we like the work and the neighbors who stop by.
