Aadiya Tiles Trading

The apartment building here is called Swapanpuri, and our shop is right at the bottom, unit 1/1. We are pretty close to the Arati Cinema Hall on Rajarhat Road, so it is easy to find if you know the Jyangra Chowmatha area. Tiles are heavy things to move, and we have stacks of them all over the floor in different sizes and finishes. Some are glossy and others have a matte feel, mostly for floors or bathrooms. It gets a bit crowded in here when a new shipment arrives from the trucks. The air usually has a bit of that stone dust smell because of all the ceramic and porcelain pieces being moved around. We don't have a big fancy showroom, just the samples and the boxes piled up. People from the Deshbandhunagar area walk past every day, and some pop in to see what colors are available for their kitchen or back porch. It takes a lot of effort to keep the samples organized because there are so many different patterns. The shop door stays open most of the day to let some air in, and you can hear the sounds of the road and the people heading toward the cinema. We spend our time checking orders and making sure the counts are right before things get loaded up. It is a straightforward business, just dealing with tiles and keeping the stock moving to where it needs to go. There is always a broom leaning against the wall because of the dust.
