The Modern Optical

Our shop is in Sector 41, right in the C Block Market at number 19. It is a decent-sized market and we have been part of it for a while. We spend the day looking through lenses and helping people find frames that do not slide down their noses. The lighting inside is quite bright so people can see the small print on the eye charts. We have a lot of drawers filled with different types of glasses. Sometimes the hinges on the display cases squeak, and we keep saying we will oil them but usually forget. We see a lot of the same faces from around the neighborhood. It is a place where we sit and talk to people while they try on twenty different pairs of glasses. We keep a mirror on the counter that has seen better days, but it does the job. Sector 41 is usually busy in the evenings when everyone is out shopping for groceries in the market. We stay open then too. The floor is a bit worn out from all the foot traffic. We are not fancy, just a regular optical shop with a lot of frames on the walls. We handle the eye testing in a small room in the back. It is quiet back there compared to the market noise outside. We just keep things simple and try to be helpful to whoever walks through the door. It is just our daily life here among the glasses and cases.
