Snack Hut

You will find Snack Hut right at Pari Chowk in Tugalpur. It is a very busy area because of the main market being so close. There are always people waiting for buses or students from the nearby colleges walking around. We have a small spot where we prepare everything. It can get pretty cramped when three of us are working in the back, but we’ve found a way to move around each other without bumping into things. We start by cleaning the counters and getting the stove going. The smell of the food usually starts to bring people in by mid-morning. It’s a lot of standing on your feet all day, which can be tiring, but the time goes by fast when it’s busy. We don't have a big menu, just the things we know how to make well. Sometimes the market traffic gets so bad that it’s hard for people to even cross the street to get to us. We’ve got a few stools out front for people to sit, though most folks just stand and eat quickly before they have to catch their ride. It’s a simple life, mostly just managing the supplies and making sure the oil is hot and the snacks are ready. We try to keep things moving so nobody has to wait too long. We’ve been serving this crowd for a while now.
