Shyam Singh General Store

Shyam Singh General Store is tucked away in Sector 27, right near the Shipra Hotel. It’s a decent location because the hotel brings in some travelers, but mostly we serve the people living in the sector. I started this shop because I wanted to work for myself and stay close to home. It’s not a grand business by any means. It’s just a place where you can find your daily essentials like milk, bread, and maybe some basic medicines or stationery. The shelves are a bit cluttered, and I’m always moving things around to make more room. Sometimes the light in the back flickers, but we haven't gotten around to fixing it yet. It’s just how things go when you’re busy running a shop. I enjoy the mornings most when the air is fresh and the first newspapers arrive. Most of our customers have been coming here for years, so we know all the local news and who needs what. We don’t have a fancy mission statement or big goals. We just want to stay open, pay the bills, and make sure the neighborhood has a place to shop. If you’re staying at the Shipra Hotel and forgot your toothbrush, you usually end up at our door. It’s a practical, no-nonsense kind of place. We’re just regular people trying to provide a helpful service to our neighbors in Sector 27. It is a long day every day, but it feels right.
