Shankar Sweets

You can find us over in Vasundhra at Plot No 13/5 C. We are located inside the Ganpati Complex in Sector 13. It can be a bit of a walk to find our door if you are not from this area, but the local people know where we are. The shop is on the smaller side and we have a lot of items squeezed onto the shelves. We mostly make traditional sweets and some savory fried snacks. The kitchen area is situated right at the back of the shop and you can smell the oil and sugar from the very entrance of the complex. We have been working at this particular spot for quite a while now. It is not a corporate business. It is just us trying to make enough items to sell for the day. The Ganpati Complex gets really busy on the weekends, so we have to make sure we prepare extra food. We often run out of small change, which can be a bit of a problem during the rush hours. The glass counters are old and they have a few scratches on them from years of use. We do not wear any special uniforms or anything like that. We just wear what is comfortable for working in a hot kitchen all day. Most of the people who live in Sector 13 are regular customers. We spend our time stirring big vats of milk or frying things in the kadhai.
