Knitcraft

Down by the Sector 93A Expressway, you’ll find us at Knitcraft. It’s a bit of an out-of-the-way spot if you aren't looking for it, but the expressway makes it easy to get to once you know the turn. The building is more of a warehouse style, which is necessary for the kind of work we do. There are rows of machines that make a rhythmic clicking sound all day long. We deal with a lot of yarn and fabric, so there is always a bit of lint in the air and stacks of finished goods waiting to be moved. The staff here are mostly people who have a good eye for detail. They spend their hours watching the threads and making sure nothing gets tangled. It can get pretty warm in the summer, but we keep the big doors open to catch whatever breeze comes off the road. We don't have a fancy showroom or anything like that. If you come by, you’ll probably see us in work clothes, maybe with some thread stuck to our shirts. We just focus on the production side of things. The office is tucked away in the back, usually filled with order forms and shipping labels. We don't really bother with marketing because the quality of the knitting usually speaks for itself. It’s a busy, dusty, productive place where we just get on with the job of making things. It’s not glamorous, but it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday every week.
