Ramas

Ramas is situated in Shop 1, 2, and 3 of the Ram Niwas Tyagi Market. This is right on Sultanpur Road in Sector 128. Having three shops in a row sounds like a lot, but they are actually quite small and we have them filled up with all sorts of things. The market is a lively place and there is always something going on. You can hear the cars buzzing by on Sultanpur Road all day. We spend a lot of time moving between the three units, checking on what is where. It’s a family-run kind of thing and we’ve gotten to know all the other shopkeepers in Tyagi Market quite well over the years. Some days the dust from the road gets everywhere and we have to spend the first hour just cleaning the counters and the floors. We don't have a big marketing department or anyone to write fancy descriptions for us. We just open the shutters in the morning and wait for people to stop in. The neighborhood is changing a lot with new buildings going up in Sector 128, but we just stay here doing our usual routine. It gets quite cold in the winters and we all huddle around a small heater in shop number two. We have to be careful with the glass windows because the kids sometimes play cricket in the lane behind the market. It’s a bit of a scramble every morning to get all three shops opened up on time. We don't offer anything world-changing, just the usual items people expect when they walk into a local shop like ours.
