Ramesh Sweet Shop

We’ve been at A-8 Ambedkar Road for quite a while now. Ghaziabad is a fast-growing place, but this stretch of road has a lot of history for us. Ramesh Sweet Shop is a family-run kind of thing. My father started it, and now I handle most of the daily work along with a couple of helpers who have been with us for years. It's a busy spot because Ambedkar Road is always full of cars and people walking to the markets. Our shop is just a plain building with glass counters where we keep everything. We don't have a marketing department or anything like that. We just focus on getting the work done every morning. I usually arrive before dawn to start the preparations. The kitchen in the back is where we spend most of our time. It gets hot back there, especially in the summer months. We don't use any fancy machines; it's mostly done by hand. People from the nearby colonies stop in on their way home from work. Sometimes they are in a hurry and just want a quick pack of something, and other times they stay to chat for a bit. We’ve seen the road outside change from a quiet lane to a major thoroughfare. The sign above the door is a bit faded now, but everyone around here knows where we are. It’s a lot of hard work and long hours on our feet for this small local business.
