Poonam Kaj Button House

Poonam Kaj Button House is located right in Sector 5, inside Sharma Market. We focus mostly on making buttonholes and fixing buttons on all sorts of garments. It is a small shop, and we have been here for a good number of years. Most of the local tailors around the 41592 area know us well because they drop off their work in big bags every morning. We try to get everything finished by the time the sun goes down. The shop isn't much to look at, just a few machines and shelves full of thread. We have thousands of buttons stored in old plastic jars and tins. Sorting through them can take a lot of time, but we usually find a match. Sometimes the power cuts out in the market, so we just sit and wait or work by hand if we can. My family helps out during the busy seasons when there are lots of weddings and new clothes being made. The floor is usually covered in little bits of colorful thread and fabric scraps. It is a bit of a mess, but we know where everything is. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just walk in or call us. We keep our machines oiled and running because that is how we make our living. It is simple work, but it keeps us busy and we like being part of the market life here.
