New Hope Science Classes

We have been running New Hope Science Classes in Sector 22 X 4 for quite a while now. Most days it is just us and the students trying to figure out physics and chemistry. It gets a bit loud when everyone is asking questions at once, but that is just how it goes in a learning space. We started this because we saw kids in the area struggling with their science textbooks. The room we use isn't anything fancy, just some sturdy desks and a big whiteboard, but it does the job well enough. Sometimes the ceiling fans make a clicking noise that we keep meaning to fix, but we never seem to find the time. We mostly focus on making sure people actually understand what they are reading instead of just memorizing things for an exam. If you walk past our spot in Sector 22, you will probably see a bunch of bicycles parked outside. We do not have a big front desk or a receptionist. It is just a place where we sit down and work through tough problems until they finally make sense. We have had many different students come through over the years. Some stay for a few months and others stay until they graduate and move on. We just keep doing what we do every afternoon. It is a simple setup and there is nothing too special about the building itself, but the work we do inside matters to us. Classes usually start after school ends.
