We've been at 51 Gandhi Market for a long time. People around Modi Nagar know where to find us. It's just a small shop really, packed with sarees from floor to ceiling. Sometimes the fans don't work great in the summer, but we manage. My father started this and now I'm here most days. We have cottons, silks, and the heavier stuff for weddings. Customers come in, sit on the floor cushions, and we start pulling things off the shelves. It gets messy when it's busy. We don't have a big fancy website or anything like that. People just walk in after doing their other shopping in the market. Most of the folks who come here have been coming for years. They know we keep a decent stock and don't play games with the prices. Gandhi Market can get pretty crowded, especially on weekends, so it's a bit of a squeeze getting to the door sometimes. We keep the latest designs we can find, but we also have the old styles that older ladies still prefer. It's a lot of work folding everything back up after a customer leaves. We try to keep things organized, but on a busy Tuesday, that’s hard. If you're looking for something specific, you can just ask. We probably have it tucked away somewhere in the back or on a high shelf we need the ladder for. It's a lot to do every day but we like it here.
