Nathu Sweet

Our shop is at 584 Guru Ram Das Nagar in Lakshmi Nagar. If you know this part of Delhi, you know how busy the streets get. There is always someone walking by or a rickshaw honking. We’ve been handling sweets and snacks here for a good while. It’s a family-run kind of thing. We wake up early to start making the batches for the day. The smell of sugar and milk is always around us. It’s a lot of work, stirring the big pots and making sure nothing burns. We don't have a fancy display, just the glass cases we’ve always used. Sometimes the floor gets a bit sticky, but we try to keep it clean. People come in for a quick sweet or to take a box home for a celebration. We see a lot of students and office workers who just want something small. We don't do big advertisements or anything. Most people just find us because they live nearby or their parents used to come here. It’s a plain shop with a lot of history in the walls. We aren't looking to expand into a giant chain. We just like being the local sweet shop that people can depend on. It’s a steady life and we’re okay with that. We just focus on getting the recipes right every morning before the sun gets too high. It's what we know how to do and we keep doing it every single day.
