Mukesh General Store

Mukesh General Store is out on Gad Road in the Simbhali area of Hapur. It’s right on the way toward Delhi, so we get a lot of people passing through as well as the locals. We aren't a big shop, just a single room filled with stuff people need for their kitchens and homes. We’ve got sacks of rice and lentils, and some small household items like soaps and matches. The building is an older one and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it does the job. I usually run the place by myself most days. It gets a bit quiet in the afternoons when the sun is hot, but mornings and evenings are busy with people getting their daily supplies. We don't have any fancy displays or neon signs. There is just a wooden counter where I sit. People in Simbhali are mostly farmers or workers, so they want things that are practical. We don't stock expensive brands that nobody here would buy. It is a straightforward life running a shop on Gad Road. I’ve known some of these customers since they were kids. We don't have a phone number for the shop or anything like that. If someone needs something, they just walk in and ask. We try to keep the prices fair so people keep coming back. It’s not a complicated business, just a local store for local people who need their everyday groceries. We just do our best to stay open.
