Little Orchid Play School

Our place is tucked away in G-Block of Sector 22, over in Noida. It’s actually a two-story MIG flat, number 13 B, so it really looks like a regular house from the outside. That’s just how Little Orchid Play School is. We like that it feels like a home because it makes the kids feel less nervous when they first come in. We have a little bit of space out front and the rooms inside are where the kids spend their time. Being in a residential area like Sector 22 means most of the families live right nearby. You can hear the neighborhood sounds, like people walking their dogs or the vegetable sellers going by. We spend our mornings getting things ready before the first lot of children arrive. It's usually a bit of a scramble to get the toys out and the mats down. We don't have fancy uniforms or anything like that. It’s just us and the kids. Sometimes the weather gets hot and we have to keep the fans going full blast. We’ve seen a lot of kids grow up here and move on to the bigger schools nearby. It’s a quiet life mostly, just managing the daily routine of snacks and nap times and small games. We try to keep the place looking bright but there’s usually a bit of mess by noon. It’s hard to keep everything in its place when you have a dozen toddlers running around. We have some old posters on the walls and a few shelves filled with books. Our kitchen is small, so we just manage to heat up some milk. It’s a very settled part of Noida. We don't have a big fancy sign outside, just a small one near the door. Sometimes we have to deal with a leaky tap, just like any other home.
