Laxmi Sarees is across from the E S I Hospital in Sharma Market. It is a busy corner of Sector-22. People coming from Gamma I often pass us. We see a lot of doctors and nurses, and people visiting the hospital. The market is always moving and shaking. We have a decent collection of sarees, mostly things people can wear every day. We don't try to be a high-end boutique. It’s just a shop where you can find something honest. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint, but we never seem to find the time. We are too busy moving stock around. My wife helps out on the weekends when it gets extra crowded. We’ve had this shop since the kids were small. Now they are grown up. Sharma Market has its own rhythm. You get to know the street vendors outside. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to use candles or just wait for it to come back. It doesn't bother us much anymore. We just sit on the bench outside and talk to the neighbors until the lights flicker back on. We aren't looking to expand or move to a bigger mall. This spot works for us. It’s familiar and we know the people here. Every saree we sell has been handled by us personally. We take care of our things and hope people find what they need for their homes.
