Lakshmi Mobile

Lakshmi Mobile is located on Bhrispati Bazar Road in Sector 47. If you know the area, you know how busy it gets on market days. The street is lined with vendors, and the noise is something else. I’ve been at this location for a good while. The shop itself is just a simple room with a tile floor that’s cracked in one corner. I’ve put a rug over it so nobody trips. I spend my mornings setting things up and checking what came in the day before. The humidity in Noida can be tough, so I have a cooler that works some of the time. It makes a loud clattering sound, but it keeps the air moving. I get people from all over the neighborhood coming in. Some are in a hurry and others want to talk for half an hour. I try to be patient with everyone. My ledger is getting full, so I need to buy a new one soon. I still write everything down by hand. It’s just easier for me that way. The sign outside is a bit faded from the sun, but you can still read the name if you’re looking for it. Sector 47 has changed a lot, with new buildings going up everywhere, but my little corner on Bazar Road stays pretty much the same. It’s a lot of hours, but I like being my own boss. I usually lock up around eight.
