Kritika Suit & Saree

You can find Kritika Suit & Saree over at Bhawani Market in Sector 27. We are at shop number zero, which sounds a bit funny when you tell people, but that is exactly where we are. The market is always crowded and usually a bit dusty because of all the construction nearby. We sell mostly suits and sarees, just like the sign says. It’s a small space, so we have to use every bit of the walls to hang things up so people can see the patterns. I've been working in this shop since the market was much smaller than it is today. Now there are shops everywhere you look. It’s always noisy and there is usually someone shouting or a scooter honking right outside the door. We just sit here and wait for people to walk in. Some days are good and we are very busy, but other days are really quiet and I just read the paper. We don't have any fancy air conditioning, just a couple of ceiling fans that rattle a bit when they are on high. The lighting is just regular tube lights that we've had for years. It’s a practical place for people to shop. We don't use any big words to describe what we do here. We just sell clothes to people who need them for weddings or just for daily wear. My family comes in to help me out during the festival seasons when things get really hectic. It’s a lot of manual work, moving boxes and showing fabrics.
