Gupta Provision & General Store

You can find us at Booth Number 9 in the Mahalaxmi Estate over in Sector 20. We’ve been operating out of this small unit for quite a while now. It’s a provision store, so we stock the usual things people need for their kitchens like spices, grains, and flour. We also have general items like batteries and light bulbs. The space is quite narrow, so if there are more than three customers inside, it feels a bit crowded. I usually spend my mornings checking the stock and dusting the bottles. We don't use any computers here; everything is done by hand. Sometimes the delivery guys leave the crates right in the middle of the path, which is a bit of a pain. My wife helps out in the afternoons when she’s finished with her chores at home. We know most of the families in the estate. We’ve seen their kids grow up and go off to college. It’s a friendly enough place, though it gets a bit chaotic on Sunday mornings when everyone wants their groceries at the same time. The paint on the walls is peeling a bit near the ceiling, but the roof doesn't leak, which is the main thing. We keep it simple and just try to have what people ask for most. It’s not fancy, but it gets the job done. Sometimes I forget to order the milk bags, but that only happens once in a while.
