We are over in Sarai Khwaja, right in the middle of the Band Market. It’s a bit of a maze if you don’t know the turns. The shop is on Bunty Wali Gali. It’s a narrow lane, but everyone around here knows where it is. Bikanervala has been here for a good while now. We open up early to get everything ready for the day. The morning is usually quiet, just the sound of the shutters opening up and down the street. Then the tea stall next door starts up and the smell of smoke fills the air. It’s a very local spot. We don't get many tourists. Mostly just the people who live in the houses behind the market. I spend a lot of my day standing near the front. You see everything from there. Dogs sleeping in the shade, kids playing after school, and the vegetable sellers moving their carts. Bunty Wali Gali gets a bit muddy when it rains, so we have to keep cleaning the floor. We don't have any big posters or anything. People just know we're here. My cousin works with me on the weekends. It’s a small operation, really. We just try to do our work and go home. Sarai Khwaja isn't the fanciest part of town, but it's where we belong. It’s a busy life, but it keeps us going day after day.
