Bikanar Sweet Wala

Bikanar Sweet Wala is at Shop No 723/724/2 in the Agrasen Bazar of Old Faridabad. This part of the city is very old, and the market is full of narrow lanes and a lot of history. Our shop has two units joined together to give us enough room for the display and the kitchen. We make traditional sweets every day using the same methods that have been used for generations. The back of the shop is where all the heavy work happens, with big iron pans and a lot of heat. It’s a very physical job, stirring large amounts of milk and sugar for hours. In the front, the glass cases are filled with different kinds of sweets. We get a lot of people from the local bazaar who stop in for a quick snack or to take something home for their families. During the wedding season, we are incredibly busy and the whole shop smells like cardamom and rose water. We aren't a corporate chain; we are just a local sweet shop that has been part of this community for a long time. The floor is made of old stone and the walls have some cracks, but that’s just how these old buildings are. We focus on keeping the food fresh and serving our regular customers who we see almost every day. It’s a long day of work, but we are proud to be here.
