Associated Electronics Research Foundations

Associated Electronics Research Foundations is located in Phase 2. This is an area that is mostly known for industrial and technical work, so we fit right in with the surroundings. Our building is a standard block in the Phase II section, and it does not stand out much from the others on the street. Inside, it looks exactly like what you would expect from a research place. There are benches with soldering irons, various electronic components in small plastic bins, and a few oscilloscopes that have seen a lot of use over the years. We spend our days testing circuits and looking at how different parts interact. It is not a clean room or a high-tech lab you would see in a movie. It is more of a practical workshop where things are constantly being taken apart and put back together. The floors are concrete and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but that does not bother us much. We are more interested in what is happening on our workbenches. The air usually smells a little bit like warm electronics and solder. It is a quiet environment for the most part, except for the occasional hum of a power supply or the sound of someone digging through a box of resistors. We just stay focused on the research tasks at hand.
