Ashoka Battries

If you ever find yourself in Sector 3 Udyog Vihar, you might come across Ashoka Battries at E 20. It’s an industrial area, so everything is a bit gray and dusty. We deal with all kinds of batteries, mostly for cars and big machines. It’s heavy work, and by the end of the day, our clothes usually have a few acid holes or grease stains on them. We don't have a fancy showroom with air conditioning. It’s just a big open space with shelves full of heavy black boxes. The sounds of the neighboring factories are always in the background, so you have to talk a bit louder here. We’ve been at E 20 for a long time now. People come to us when their cars won’t start or when they need a backup for their homes. We don't use any scripts or professional sales talk. We just check the voltage and tell them if it’s dead or if it can be charged. It’s a straightforward business. Sometimes it gets really hot in the summer and we have to keep all the doors open to get a breeze. We’ve got a small desk where we keep the bills, but it’s mostly covered in tools. We aren't trying to be anything we aren't. We just know batteries and we’ve been doing this in Udyog Vihar for as long as I can remember.
