Geethanjali High School

Geethanjali High School is tucked away at 6-18-226 in the New Ngos Colony, which is part of Subhash Nagar in Nizamabad. It’s a residential area, so the school is right in the middle of where people live. This means we have to be careful about the noise, though that’s hard with a building full of teenagers. The morning rush in Subhash Nagar can be a bit much, with cycles and scooters everywhere near our entrance. Inside, the school is a bit of a maze of corridors and stairs. We try to keep the classrooms as organized as possible, but with so many students, there’s always a bit of clutter. The teachers are usually seen carrying stacks of correction work to the staff room. Nizamabad can get really dusty, so we are constantly wiping down the desks and shelves. We don't have a giant campus, so we use every bit of space we have for the kids to sit and eat their lunch. During the rainy season, the roof sometimes leaks in the old wing, and we have to move the benches around. It’s these little things that keep us on our toes. We aren't trying to be anything other than a local high school where kids come to learn their math and science. When the day ends and the colony gets quiet again, we finally get a chance to sit down and plan for the next morning.
