Sri Laxmi Narasimha Flour Mill

The Sri Laxmi Narasimha Flour Mill is located in Vinayak Nagar, right at house number 1-12-157 in Sri Nagar Colony. We’ve been grinding grains here for the people of Nizamabad for quite a while. The sound of the mill stones is something the neighbors are used to by now. It gets very dusty inside with all the flour in the air. We mostly handle wheat and some other local grains that people bring in. They come with their sacks and wait while we process them. It’s a small space and the machines take up most of it. I spend a lot of time cleaning the equipment and making sure the belts are tight. My clothes are usually covered in a fine white powder by noon. It’s a bit hot inside the mill, especially during the summer months. We don't have a big storefront, just the entrance where people drop off their bags. Sometimes we have a long line of people waiting under the shade outside. I talk to everyone who comes in. We know most of our customers by name since they live nearby in Sri Nagar Colony. It isn't a fancy job, but it’s an important one for the kitchen. We just keep the machines running and try to keep up with the demand. The smell of fresh flour is actually quite nice once you get used to it.
