Rosewood High School

Down here on Vani Navashathi Company Street in Kamareddy, you’ll find Rosewood High School. It’s tucked away a bit, but the locals know where we are. The street can get a little dusty when the trucks go by, but inside the gates, it’s mostly just the sound of kids talking or teachers calling out names. We started out with just a few rooms and added more as the years went by. It isn’t the biggest school in the area, but we have enough space for the kids to run around during the break. The staff room is always a bit cluttered with papers and tea cups, which is just how it goes when you’re busy. We have students coming from all over Kamareddy, some walking and some getting dropped off. The building has seen a lot of rain and sun, and it looks like a place that’s been used well. We don’t spend much time worrying about how things look as long as the benches are sturdy and the roof doesn’t leak. There’s a certain way the light hits the courtyard in the afternoon that makes everything feel quiet for a second before the final bell goes. Everyone knows everyone else’s business here, which is just part of living and working in a place like this. It’s just a regular school where we spend our days trying to get through the books. The bell is a bit rusty and makes a strange sound, but everyone recognizes it easily. We keep things simple and focus on the daily work.
