Wigan & Leigh College

Wigan & Leigh College is based on the third floor of 32/1009 in the Madan Gir DDA flats. It is a bit of a climb up the stairs every morning, but you get used to it after the first week. The area is always buzzing with people, and the flats are packed close together, so there is always some noise from the neighbors or the street below. Inside the college space, we have classrooms that are mostly filled with chairs and whiteboards. It’s not a fancy campus with a big grass lawn or a canteen. We are right there in the middle of the community in New Delhi-110062. The students usually hang out on the stairs or near the main entrance between their lessons. We spend a lot of time fixing the fans or making sure the lights are working in the hallways. It’s a very hands-on kind of place. We have a small office area where we keep the records and where the staff sits to grade papers. Sometimes the water cooler runs out, and we have to wait for the new bottles to arrive. It feels more like a local learning center than a big institution. Everyone knows each other’s names, and it’s common to see people chatting in the corridors. We just try to keep the place running smoothly so the classes can happen without any major issues.
