American Institute

We’ve been here at Yusuf Sarai for a while now, right near the Green Park Metro Station. If you walk past the Indian Oil building, you’ll find us easily enough. It’s a busy spot, but we like it here. People come in all day asking about classes. We started the American Institute because we saw folks around Green Park Extension needing a bit of help with their English and other skills. It’s not a fancy place, just some rooms where we sit down and get to work. Most days it’s just us and the students trying to figure things out. We don’t have any big speeches to give. We just open the doors in the morning and stay until the last person leaves. Sometimes the metro gets crowded, so people arrive a bit late, but that’s just life in Delhi. We handle a lot of different levels here. Some kids are just starting, others are looking to go abroad. We try to keep things practical. You won't find any shiny brochures here, just some desks and teachers who know their stuff. It gets a bit noisy outside with the traffic, but inside we just focus on the lessons. We've seen a lot of students pass through these doors over the years. Some still stop by to say hello when they're in the area. It feels good to see them doing well. Anyway, if you're near the station and need to find us, we're right there at 34/1.
