Up here in Wazirpur Industrial Area at C 18/4, things are always moving. Mukesh Steel Trading is right in the thick of it. Steel isn't the cleanest business to be in, so our place usually has a bit of grit on the floors and a lot of heavy lifting going on. We spend our days dealing with bundles and sheets, moving stuff around the yard and loading up trucks. It’s hard work and it gets loud with the metal clanging together. We don’t have any fancy suits or a quiet lobby. Most of the time we are just in our work clothes, checking the weight of the loads and making sure the grades are what they should be. The traffic on this road can be a nightmare in the evenings, but we just work around it. Our neighbors are all doing similar things, so there’s a lot of noise from all sides. It’s an industrial life, plain and simple. We don’t spend much time on the computer unless we really have to. Most of our business is done over the phone or just face to face when someone pulls their truck up to the gate. We’ve been at this spot for a good while and know the local transporters pretty well. If you need steel, you just come by and see what we have in stock. There’s no need to make it more complicated than that. We just focus on the trade and getting through the day's list of tasks.
