Umesh General Store

Umesh General Store is on Rangpuri Road in Mahipal Pur. We are right at number 10, just across from the Punjab National Bank. It is a handy location because people often come here after they finish their business at the bank. We have been here for several years now. It is a general store, so we have a bit of everything. From washing powder to packets of chips, you can find it on our shelves. Mahipal Pur is a busy part of Delhi with a lot of people moving in and out. We see a lot of new faces but also many regulars who live in the narrow lanes around here. The shop is small and the ceiling is a bit low. We keep it organized as best as we can. I handle the counter most days. It is not a glamorous job, but it is steady work. We do not use fancy labels or displays. Everything is just out where people can see it easily. Sometimes the traffic on Rangpuri Road makes it hard for delivery trucks to park, but we manage. We just keep our heads down and do the work. It is a simple neighborhood shop for people who need things quickly without going to a big store. We try to stay open late enough for the office workers coming home. Sometimes it gets a bit noisy with the cars outside, but we are used to it by now.
