Tandon Academy

Tandon Academy is located at 230 Anand Vihar. It is a place where we spend most of our afternoons and evenings. We started this because we wanted to help the kids in the neighborhood with their studies. It is not a big institution with hundreds of rooms; it is more of a focused environment where students come after their regular school hours. The classrooms are simple, with enough benches and whiteboards for small groups. You will usually hear the sound of someone explaining a math problem or the scratching of pens on paper. We do not have a big admin department. Usually, it is just one of us handling the admissions and talking to parents at the door. We keep a lot of old textbooks and practice papers stacked up in the corner for anyone who needs extra help. Some days are quite loud when the students are discussing things, and other days it is completely silent because of an exam. We have been in Anand Vihar for a while now, and we have seen many students grow up and move on to college. It feels good to see them doing well in their lives. We do not use any fancy teaching gadgets; we just stick to the basics of explaining things until they make sense. The building 230 is easy to find, and we are usually there until late in the evening making sure everyone has finished their work before they go home.
