You can find Shri Guru Nanak Public School over on Bunglow Road in the Adarsh Nagar area. It’s a familiar spot for anyone who lives around here. The school building sits right on the street, so you can always hear the city sounds while you’re inside. We’ve been operating out of this location for quite some time now. Most of our staff lives nearby, so there’s a real local feel to how things are run. The mornings start with the usual rush, parents on scooters dropping off their kids and the local vendors setting up nearby. We don’t have a massive campus, so every bit of space gets used for something. The rooms are filled with the usual school stuff—charts, wooden desks, and old cupboards full of books. We aren't trying to be anything we aren't. We just focus on teaching the classes and making sure the kids follow the rules. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to open all the windows to catch a breeze. It’s just the way it is in this part of town. The office is a small room near the entrance where we keep all the records and try to stay on top of the administrative work. It gets pretty loud during the breaks, but once the lessons start, it settles down into a steady hum. It’s a plain, working school that’s been part of Adarsh Nagar for years and years.
