Shine Book Treasure Foundation

Our foundation is tucked away on the Mezzanine Floor of the Hindustan Times House on Kasturba Gandhi Marg. It’s a big, famous building, but our office is actually quite small and humble. We’re right between floors 18 and 20. Because we deal with books, the whole place is usually filled with boxes and stacks of paper. It can be a bit of a squeeze to get around sometimes. We don’t have any fancy office furniture or high-tech gadgets. Most of what we have is just old shelves and a few sturdy tables for sorting through things. We aren't a big corporate entity. We are just a group of people who think books are important. People sometimes get lost trying to find the mezzanine floor, so we spend a bit of time giving directions over the phone. It’s a busy building with a lot of people in suits, but we’re just here in our casual clothes doing the heavy lifting. We don’t have a big marketing plan or a polished image. We just get the books to where they need to go. It’s a lot of physical work, and our hands are usually a bit dusty by the end of the day. But we like the smell of old books and the feeling of getting things organized. It’s just what we do here in our little corner of the building, day after day.
